A recent ABC News/Washington Post Poll finds that the Affordable Care Act is increasing in popularity with Americans. Just 37% of those surveyed wanted the ACA to be repealed and replaced; 61% of those surveyed preferred keeping the ACA and fixing its problems. 79% of those polled want to see President Trump make the ACA work as well as possible rather than letting it fail.
Key provisions of the ACA are also increasingly popular. According to the poll, 70% of Americans think that coverage for preexisting conditions should be mandatory and not left up to the states. In addition, 62% of those polled think that there should be basic minimum coverage standards (such as preventative healthcare and maternity care).
